    Flow Yoga Outdoor Flow Yoga with instructor Maryann Quinn. Come for an hour of fun and relaxation at Rockwood Park and learn the art of Flow Yoga. The program is offered every Tuesday at 9 am. The program will be offered outdoors by the Museum Conservatory, weather permitting, however, this activity will be held rain or shine. Please bring a mat, blocks, towel, water. Ages 16-Adults

    Watercolors on the Veranda This is a rare opportunity to study Rockwood’s botanical collections for inspiration for your own floral still life painting. In the summer, Rockwood’s collection of indoor plants is moved from the Conservatory to the incredibly picturesque covered Veranda. A small group of participants of any ability will study living specimens in this ideal setting. They may even get a glimpse of the Delaware Shakespeare Festival rehearsals. Ages 16-Adults.

    Rockwood Paranormal Experience This is Rockwood’s classic Paranormal Program to investigate the mansion from the unfinished attic to the decayed basement through the highly polished living spaces in between. Guests will be instructed how to use sophisticated paranormal equipment to be central to the investigation. Visiting investigators will learn how instrument results relate to those who may have once lived or worked at Rockwood. Attendees must be able to traverse many stairs throughout the museum. Ages 14+.

    Poetry in the Mansion - Summer Reading List In June, celebrate the Summer Solstice, when daylight lasts longest, with Rockwood’s Poet-in-Residence, David P. Kozinski. He will read and discuss poems that touch on the subjects of light and the multiple uses of the word, by greats such as Emily Dickinson, Dylan Thomas, and Denise Levertov, as well as some of his own work. Then, in July, Kozinski and a guest poet will read poems from books that make great summer reading – light-hearted and thought-provoking, serious and silly – by poets whose names are well known and some that visitors might be meeting for the first time.     Growing in the Conservatory: The Botanical Collection Join Rockwood staff within one of America’s oldest attached Conservatories to discuss this architectural jewel and the unique origins of the plants collected there. Many of these plants were popularized in America and Europe through global colonization efforts by Western powers. When available, more information will be provided about the 19th-century plant specimens originally collected by the Conservatory’s first owner, Joseph Shipley, an amateur botanist. Ages 14+.     Gothic Fantasy: Rockwood Landscape Architecture Tour Enjoy an ideal garden walk and listen to stories of the planning, design, and construction of Rockwood’s unique Gothic revival mansion and Picturesque landscapes. The tour guide will give information about the biography of Rockwood’s first owner, Joseph Shipley, and the history of British and American architecture at this time to create a context for this preserved rural oasis. Highlights will include one of the oldest attached conservatories in America, Rockwood’s Heritage Garden of 19th-century trees, and one of the best-preserved ha-ha walls outside of Great Britain. This tour pairs very well with the Guided Museum Tour of the interiors. Ages 14+. Social distancing is recommended. Folding chairs are recommended.
